Justus Jones, a 17-year-old high school senior and Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County member, received the Inaugural GL Homes College Scholarship for Engineering.

GL Homes rolled out the red carpet at Riverland in Port St. Lucie for Justus and his father, Isaac Jones. Justus got a behind-the-scenes look at the home building process and how engineering plays a critical role in our industry.

Back in 2019, Justus visited with the GL Homes team and today, he reunited with many of the same people from engineering, sales and construction.

At the end of the tour, GL Homes Director of Land Development Mike Fogarty, an engineer, surprised Justus with a $5,000 college scholarship.

The tour was made possible through a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County’s Career Boot Camp program and the GL Homes Summer of Service initiative.  Working together, both organizations focus on mentoring the next generation by introducing teens to different career paths in the home building industry.
