Immokalee Workers Fair Food Program organized the event.

GL Homes employees donated money and supplies.

Dianna Betancourt of GL Homes and her friends volunteered their time to shop for and distribute food and toiletries to victims of Hurricane Irma who live in Immokalee, Florida on the West Coast.

The team raised over $5,500 in cash donations. ($700 of which from GL Homes Employees). Organized three drop-off locations for supplies and collected thousands of dollars’ worth of items. All in less than 48 hours. They filled a large moving truck and two vans full of supplies. The cash donation was spent at Walmart on additional, much needed supplies: food, under garments, bathroom supplies, baby supplies, etc. They then helped unloaded the trucks at Coalition of Immokalee Workers and sorted all of the items into like piles. Afterwards, the team helped prepare bags that were immediately handed out the newly homeless people as a result of Hurricane Irma.
