GL Homes VP of Community Relations Sarah Alsofrom, Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend Host Natalie Taylor and Habitat of East & Central Pasco County Development & Community Engagement Manager Kathy Proulx
Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend served up good news when host Natalie Taylor spoke to Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County and GL Homes.
These longstanding partners are making a huge impact by creating an environmentally friendly way to help budget-conscious consumers snap up great bargains while helping deserving families find a path to homeownership.
The Florida homebuilder made the largest in-kind furniture donation to Habitat of East & Central Pasco that the nonprofit received so far in 2025. This $90,000 in-kind donation included office furniture, decor, cabinets and lighting fixtures. Since 2021, GL Homes has donated $200,000 in furniture, building supplies and home restoration goods to Habitat of East & Central Pasco from its model homes and sales offices.
The money generated from these sales goes back into Habitat programs to build homes for deserving first-time homeowners.
Habitat ReStores accept new and gently used home improvement goods and furniture and sell a constantly changing inventory of diverse, high-quality merchandise to the public at a fraction of the retail price, while diverting reusable household items and building materials from area landfills.
The sales from donated items help Habitat for Humanity partner with local families to build, rehabilitate and repair safe and affordable homes in local communities and around the world — a good deal for the customer, the community and the environment.
Habitat for Humanity helps families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future while creating stronger neighborhoods.
