At the Woof & Wag Agility Course in Port St. Lucie, everything is going to the dogs!
Shelter dogs at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County (HSSLC) benefit from this enrichment time because the agility course will help them to reduce anxiety and stress, and aid in their overall well-being.
GL Homes purchased the $15,000 professional dog agility course that was installed at HSSLC.
“Since the inception of our enrichment program, playgroups for dogs have been instrumental in improving the mental health of our dogs,” said HSSLC Director of Development Shannon Glendinning. “Now, with the agility course, we can take things to the next level by providing our dogs with an opportunity to engage both mentally and physically in a fun and constructive way.”
GL Homes Vice President of Community Relations Sarah Alsofrom expressed her excitement about the partnership. “At GL Homes, we are passionate about supporting initiatives that make a difference in the community, especially when it comes to animal welfare. The Woof & Wag Agility Course will provide a space where dogs can thrive, reduce stress, and prepare for adoption. We are proud to be part of this project, knowing that it will positively impact the lives of countless shelter dogs.”
The agility course will offer an enhanced platform for HSSLC staff and volunteers to work on training and obedience, helping the shelter dogs develop better behaviors and improving their chances of finding forever homes.
