GL Homes donated $25,000 of emergency funding to Gulfstream Goodwill Industries for its Move-out Costs Program. While this program has been in existence for years, funding was depleted this summer due to the extraordinary high cost of rent.
Move-out Costs provides first and last month’s rent plus security deposits for people moving out of the Lewis Center, an emergency homeless shelter in West Palm Beach, into an independent living situation. Without these critical funds, Lewis Center residents are unable to move out, which keeps the shelter beds full.
GL Homes provided the emergency funding within 24 hours after receiving Gulfstream Goodwill’s urgent request.
Gulfstream Goodwill Industries changes lives through housing, training, education and employment.
