It took a team effort and some heavy lifting to load up the new and like-new home appliances onto the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County truck. GL Homes donated washers and dryers, gas stoves, refrigerators, microwave ovens and more to Habitat. GL Homes employees volunteered their time to help Habitat employees pack up dozens of surplus appliances.
Those appliances will be sold at Habitat ReStores, which are home improvement thrift stores and donation centers. ReStores sell quality merchandise, building materials and household items to the public at a fraction of the retail price. The money generated from sales go back into Habitat programs.
