In a friendly competition, two teams of GL Homes employees packaged 1,537 in just under two hours.
The event, a partnership between Feeding South Florida and GL Homes, kicked off the GL Homes Summer of Service and highlighted the need for volunteering during a time when many volunteers take vacation.
While volunteers may take time off during the summer months, a nonprofit’s need for help never takes a vacation.
In addition to the volunteer hours provided, GL Homes donated $10,000 to Feeding South Florida that day.
Feeding South Florida is South Florida’s leading domestic-hunger relief organization serving 25% of the state’s food insecure population.
