The GL Homes annual Summer of Service kicked it into high gear with a family volunteer day at Feeding South Florida in Boynton Beach. Employees and their families made healthy ready-to-eat meals for hunger-insecure children in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

The adult volunteers, including employees, their spouses and extended family members, prepared 450 bento lunch boxes with sandwiches, carrot sticks and pretzels.

Meanwhile, the school-age children of GL Homes employees kept up with their parents while working on a different project for South Florida’s largest hunger relief nonprofit.

The GL Homes children’s team created ready-to-eat breakfast packages for the next six weeks! This month-and-a-half supply of packaged breakfast meals, which includes cold cereal, milk and fruit cups, will feed hundreds of hungry South Florida children.

Feeding South Florida nourishes families with healthy food, uniting the community around hunger and poverty issues, and helping families achieve household stability.
