GL Homes finds creative ways to repurpose furniture and furnishings so nothing goes to waste. Valencia Bonita, a GL Homes community in Bonita Springs, donated approximately $30,000 of high-quality, gently-used home goods and building materials from its sales office to Habitat for Humanity for Lee & Hendry Counties.

From artwork to artificial plants and kitchen cabinets to curtain rods, GL Homes provided Habitat for Humanity with over 300 separate items to sell at their ReStores. Items included: dozens of light fixtures, doors and hinges, a refrigerator and an exhaust hood, tables and chairs, plus bathroom vanities and exit signs.

Habitat ReStores sell home furnishings, building materials and home improvement items for a fraction of the retail price while diverting reusable, household items from landfills. The proceeds from the sale of these items is invested into the programs serving Habitat clients, all of whom are future homeowners.

Habitat for Humanity for Lee & Hendry County works to eliminate barriers to a better, healthier and more stable life.
