Through its Good Night’s Sleep initiative, GL Homes partnered with Youth Haven and St. Matthew’s House to help a formerly homeless teen furnish her first apartment.

Merci, who is a 19-year-old Youth Haven client, received a stipend from GL Homes to shop at the St. Matthew’s House thrift store in Bonita Springs. Merci, who had been homeless, selected a mattress, box spring and headboard along with a table, chairs and lamps. Merci, a college student who works part-time, also received a donation from GL Homes to purchase new linens, towels and pots and pans.

What better way to start the day off right than with a good night’s sleep! The GL Homes Good Night’s Sleep program provides the furnishings to make a house a home for those people transitioning from homelessness to an independent life.

Youth Haven is Southwest Florida’s only emergency and residential shelter for children and teens (ages 6 to 19) due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.

St. Matthew’s House, located in Naples, provides housing for the homeless, food for the hungry and treatment for the addicted and suffering.
