One year after the start of the pandemic, Feeding South Florida continues to provide nutritious food to thousands of hungry people.

At a Feeding South Florida food distribution site in Boynton Beach, each car received a week’s worth of groceries for a family of four. Volunteers packed trunks of cars with chicken, carrots, oranges, yogurt, milk and pasta.

GL Homes donated $10,000 to sponsor the food distribution event.

The first car arrived at 1 a.m. When the distribution line opened at 8 a.m., the cars snaked around several city blocks. Within 45 minutes of opening, 727 cars received groceries.

GL Homes Operations Manager Jill Schimming Taddeo who volunteered at the Feeding South Florida distribution site said, “I know there are people here today who desperately need this food. It’s worth my time and effort to help families in need.”
